Best Architect of the Year

Entries for this award will come from architectural practices operating in the commercial property sector which have made significant contributions to developments in terms of design, deliverability and control of costs.

The judges will be strongly influenced by your answers to the questions below and the 200 word supporting statements you provide. The judges will also use their industry knowledge to assess entrants’ performances. The judges will look for evidence of innovation in the practice’s approach to planning and site issues, overall quality of building design which in turn will encompass aesthetic appearance, originality, functionality, buildability and cost.

The practice’s overall contribution to the project in terms of cost plan, control of costs and an appreciation of the factors which make successful commercial projects will also be considered.

The winning architects practice should demonstrate a broad spectrum of activity and project success in one or more of the property sectors of offices, industrial, retail, residential and commercial leisure.

Best Small Agency Practice – (20 or less partners nationally)

Entries for the Best Small Agency Practice (20 or less partners nationally) will come from agencies across Yorkshire who have played a major role in the sector over the last 12 months (March 2016 – March 2016)

The judges will be strongly influenced by your answers to the questions below and will of course also use their personal knowledge of the property industry to assess the performance of entrants. Please either upload your entry as a word document and attach to the completed entry form or alternatively you can type up your copy in the box provided. Please submit approx one side of A4 as your entry along with images. If you have any appropriate supporting material providing background information about your company please upload this information also.

Identify between one to three transactions including Office, Industrial, Investment, Retail and Leisure – including full details of size, rent, other lease terms, landlord, tenant and other relevant information – upon which you wish to be judged. Identify relevant complexities/achievements.

Please include details of procedures you have in place to ensure customer satisfaction and any new ideas and innovations you have introduced over the period March 2016 – March 2017.

Explain the highlight of the last year for your firm. This could be a hugely successful deal/transaction or instruction, or some consultancy advice work for a new or existing client.

Answers to the following are not obligatory but full information will help the judges put your entry into context.

Game Changer Awards

The Game Changer Awards will look at projects or deals which have had a material effect on the surrounding environment or on the market, which are widely recognised (in the property sector) as worthy of praise and which show excellence in conception, design and execution.

Best Large Agency Practice – (21 or above partners nationally)

Entries for the Best Large Agency Practice (21 or above partners nationally) will come from agencies across Yorkshire who have played a major role in the sector over the last 12 months (March 2016 – March 2017)

Property Deal of the Year

Entries for this award will come from property companies, surveyors, funders or advisers who have completed the major Yorkshire property deals during the period March 2016 – March 2017. The Judges will also, of course, use their personal knowledge of the property industry to assess the performance of entrants.

Judges will be looking to award the one deal across the year which has really made an impact and is likely to be talked about for years to come.

Explain the deal you wish to enter as the highlight of the period March 2016 – March 2017 and explain clearly the role played by your business in this deal. This could be a hugely successful deal/transaction or instruction, or some consultancy advice work for a new or existing client. This statement will say volumes about your practice’s progress during this period.

Best Innovation Project

This category is open to any business working in the commercial property sector across Yorkshire that can demonstrate best innovation in any given project. This can include design, build, planning, interiors, technology or sales. In particular the judges will be looking for projects that show best practice in sustainability, regeneration and community engagement. Please show evidence of how this innovation has impacted on the success of the project.
